EDIT – PLEASE NOTE DATE OF EVENT HAS CHANGED – SSP is going to take a leisurely cruise down to Flamingo through Everglades National Park on Sunday March 10th. Flamingo has a newly constructed lodge and restaurant where we plan to enjoy lunch.
The plan is to meet up at Ernest F. Coe Visitor Center just inside the park at 9:30. We will depart at 10:00 am sharp and head through the entry gate and into Everglades National Park. The Park does require an entrance fee of $35 per car/truck, and we encourage you to purchase it online to help reduce the wait time at the entry gate (https://www.nps.gov/ever/planyourvisit/fees.htm). We will cruise the main park road stopping initially at the Nike Missile Site (https://www.nps.gov/places/historic-nike-missile-site.htm), and a few other trails along the way depending on available time. We’ll end our cruise at Flamingo with a lunch at their lodge restaurant (https://flamingoeverglades.com/dining/). On the way back we’ll stop at Robert is Here Fruit Stand for some dessert.
Post up if you are interested as we’d like RSVP’s by March 4th to make arrangements with the restaurant.
This cruise is an open for all makes / models of cars hosted by SSP and is intended for SSP members or those interested in being a part of the SSP family. All attendees must conduct themselves accordingly, which includes no speeding, no burn-outs or donuts, no excessive revving of engines, no loud music, no drinking / alcohol while operating vehicles, and no use of any controlled substances. Please help us keep this a safe family friendly event.
Post up any questions!!
