SSP is going to cruise some of the best backroads in Florida coming this Fall!  Join us for this chill cruise through small towns, road side attractions, and some of the coolest cars around!

SSP will travel to Lakeland for their First Friday Classy Car Show, then on to Ocala for the coolest Museum of Drag Racing.  Here’s the plan:

We will depart Friday morning from Snapper Creek Service Plaza, cruising North to US27 and onto Clewiston where we will stop at Scotty’s Tiki Bar at the Roland Martin Marina.  Lunch will be leisurely under their open-air tiki hut.  We will then travel on through a Florida Scenic Highway, possibly hitting a roadside attraction or two (depending on time) and will check-in at the hotel in Lakeland.

There we will get in line around 5 for the Classy Car Show in Downtown Lakeland and take part in the festivities that evening.  First Friday’s is a big event every month that shuts down the streets for thousands of visitors.  It’ll include the Classy Car Show, a Makers Market with crafters and artisans, First Friday Exhibitors with goodies, giveaways, and special deals. October will feature the theme Cookie Carnival.

The next morning we will head North on some Florida backroads going through small towns like Dade City, Brooksville, Floral City and others.  We will hit lunch at the world famous Coney Island Drive-In.  We’ll continue on to see Rainbow Springs and Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens, ending in Ocala for dinner and the hotel.

Sunday morning we will hit Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing first thing in the morning, seeing all his history, classic cars and race cars.  From there we will run a fun slightly curvy road up Green Mountain (yeap, Florida named a Mountain) to the overlook.  We’ll continue down the curves, through Monte Verde, and to lunch in Winter Garden at the Hangry Bison.

After lunch we’ll cruise home down the Turnpike arriving Sunday evening.
