Ok...trying this again...lets show the track and crew down there some support!

Gonna hit HMS 1/8th mile track Friday night. For those of you wanting to hook up before the track, you're welcome to join a few of us at my house starting at around 5. We will be heading out sometime around 6 pm. Its good to get there early before the crowds arrive and get some quick runs in.

My address is 18700 SW 84 Ave. Reply, txt me, or PM if you are coming!

Attending:
Bruce - GTO
Llew - Mini Cooper S
Izzy - RalliEVO
Charlie - 3000GT VR4

After owning 3, I wouldn't mind seeing a 3000GT either, it's been a while!

I don't think I'll be able to make it, but I'll try.

I'm not sure how my insurance & warranty feel about driving on a race track, so I'll probably chicken out on making any passes myself though. Shocked Embarassed Rolling Eyes

Is this an 1/8th mile track? Never seen one of them before, I've only raced 1/4's.

It's 1/8th mile track, you won't be going probably past 87 mph and it's pretty safe, as long as you race one of us and not one of them crazy fast muscle cars that may go sideways at times. You get to pick who you race against anyways.

Anyone else going?

Sounds like work wont be in meltdown mode until next week, so it's looking a little more likely that I might make it out there.

Thinking about leaving early & stopping by Torq to check it out on the way down to Bruce's if I do go.

I'm not going to make it. I'm just now finishing up work & it's over an hour drive for me up here. I'd be lucky to get out of the house & make it there before you guys left for the track & I wouldn't even be racing.

Have fun, I'll make it over there one of these days Bruce.

Ug....

Ok, here's the skinny...I lined up, it started to rain. I then went and parked. I chatted with some people for 5 minutes and the rain stopped, track reopened, and I returned to my car.

I drove out in front of the pits on the approach road...I paused cause I received a text. At this point I smelled coolant. I looked in my rear-view mirror and saw the track officials running to me. I pulled over and found a hold in my radiator.

I sat and waited for a tow while they closed the track and cleaned up my mess. I was pulled out and tried to drive home, only making it to the main gate before overheating.

I sat there for 2+ hours waiting for AAA with Izzy, Melisa, Laura, Ethan, and Jonathan (thanks guys n gals for sticking it out with me).

The car is at Kendall Chevy now (needed an alignment and I really needed a loaner, no time this week to fix it). They found that the radiator had a hole in it, the AC belt tensioner was bad and the AC belt was bad. Soooo...with the alignment I'm paying around $1K. The kicker for me is, I never got to run!

Soooo...No, no videos Very Happy
